Ahhhh... I love the start of a new year. So many opportunities to start fresh, set new goals and awaken dreams that have laid dormant for too long. Sure, a lot of people think resolutions are silly — they believe that by March you'll forget all about them, so what's the point of making them in the first place?
I get it! It seems like wasted time, however, I think that whether you keep them or discard them, setting resolutions is proof that you're still willing to make changes. It says a lot about who you are as a person, and I'm the kind of person who likes to envision adventures over the next 12 months. It makes life a little more exciting, doesn't it?
Enter 2016: what are my resolutions?
This year, I've decided to be more disciplined. Yes, that includes my physical health (cliche, I know), but I also yearn for more discipline in my private life and work life. I also want to challenge myself artistically. I play music in my free time, and it's easy to let that go unpracticed when you live in a city full of talented musicians. But this year I want to be inspired and encouraged, rather than insecure and unsure. Lastly, I want to expand my community by inviting others into my life and being intentional with my time.
I know, those are some lofty resolutions, but why not set the bar high? Am I right?! ;)
Now, your turn! What are those big, beautiful resolutions you've set for this year? I want to hear all about them! Feel free to share in the comments below or via social with the hashtag #TuesdayTalks!
Cheers to new resolutions, and until next time, wear happy!
